Eurovision Song Contest Wiki

Red Hurley is an Irish singer whose career started in 1969 and has spanned more than five decades. He was the lead singer of showbands such as The Colours, The Wheels, and The Nevada before going solo. He has released several studio albums, compilation albums and singles.

He was selected to represent his home country in the Eurovision Song Contest 1976 in The Hague with the song "When", which finished in 10th place with 54 points, in spite of being a favourite to win.

Post-Contest his career suffered a decline due to the changing Irish music scene and he moved to the US in the 1990s. The move proved successful as there was renewed interest in his music and the release of his 2003 studio album saw him achieve success in the UK, US and his home country. As of 2020, he continues to be a popular live performer.
