"Puppet on a String" was the United Kingdom's entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1967 in Vienna, performed by Sandie Shaw.
In spite of Shaw starting the song late, it won the Contest with 47 points, giving the nation its first win a decade since its debut in Frankfurt am Main and was the first winning entry to be sung in English.
Post-Contest, it topped the charts in her homeland and became a worldwide hit with sales in excess of four million copies, making it the biggest-selling Eurovision single by a female artist.
