Norway has competed in the Contest 61 times since its debut at the Eurovision Song Contest 1960 in London, being absent on two occasions.
It has won the Contest three times, with its latter win holding the record for the most points achieved by a winning country under the old voting system. However, it also holds the record for the most last placings achieved by a single country - twelve times in all as of 2024 and in every decade since they began competing - four of these being with Nul Points. Since the introduction of the semi-finals, it has failed to qualify three times for the final.
The country debuted at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2003 with the act 2U whose entry "Sinnsykt gal forelsket " finished in 13th place. The following year the Contest was hosted in the Norwegian city of Lillehammer, where they finished in 13th place again. The following year they achieved their best result when entrant Malin Reitan finished in 3rd place with her entry "Sommer og skolefri ". The country withdrew from competing following this and has not appeared since.
