Eurovision Song Contest Wiki

Nora Nova was the stage name of Bulgarian-German singer Ahinora Kumanova. She moved from Bulgaria to West Germany in 1959 and won a singing contest called Die große Chance the following year, where she was presented with recording contract with West German label Electrola.

After scoring several hits in Germany and Switzerland, she was chosen to represent the former in the Eurovision Song Contest 1964 in Copenhagen with the song "Man gewöhnt sich so schnell an das Schöne", which held the record for the longest song title for a Eurovision entry until it was succeeded by the song "C'est le dernier qui a parlé qui a raison" performed by Amina of France in the 1991 Contest in Rome and then "The Social Network Song (Oh Oh – Uh - Oh Oh)", performed by Valentina Monetta of San Marino in the 2012 Contest in Baku. It finished in joint last place alongside the entries from Portugal, Yugoslavia and Switzerland.

In 1989, she returned to Bulgaria to open a fashion boutique and died on 11 February 2022 at the age of 93.
