Minouche Barelli was a French singer who started her career in the 1960s when she took part in the Rose de France song festival in Antibes, also known as Rose d'Or music festival. She went on to release several EPs.
She is best known internationally for representing Monaco in the Eurovision Song Contest 1967 in Vienna with the song "Boum-Badaboum", which finished in 5th place with 10 points, just two points behind the entry by Greek singer Vicky Leandros, who represented Luxembourg.
She made a second attempt in 1980, this time participating in her home country's national final, but finished in 6th place in the second semi-final.
Having been a longtime radio announcer, she took out Monegasque citizenship in 2002 before dying on the 20 February 2004 at the age of 56.
