Maribelle is the professional name of Dutch singer Marie Kwakman. She started her career in the early 1980s by attempting to represent her home country in the 1981 Contest in Dublin but finished as runner up in the national final to Linda Williams, who went on to finish in 9th place.

She returned three years later and was more successful, representing the country in Luxembourg City with the song "Ik hou van jou", which finished in joint 13th place with 34 points alongside the entry by Mary Roos of Germany on her second and final appearance for her country.

Post-Contest, she has released two studio albums and continues to be a successful artist in her home country.
