Kathy Kirby was an English singer whose career started in 1960 and spanned a further two decades. She released several studio albums and singles, the best known being her cover version of the song "Secret Love" by US actress and singer Doris Day. She also had a career fronting her own show on British television.
She was selected to represent her home nation in the Eurovision Song Contest 1965 in Naples with the song "I Belong", which finished as runner up to the entry by France Gall of Luxembourg.
Post-Contest, her career went into decline and she was later diagnosed with schizophrenia and spent time in a psychiatric hospital. She later moved into a residential home and died on 20 May 2011 at the age of 72.
