Jørgen Ingmann was a Danish jazz and pop guitarist who began his career in 1944. He had a Europe-wide hit in 1961 with the song "Apache".
In 1955, he met his future wife, singer Grethe Ingmann, and they formed their own duo. They were selected to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest 1963 in London with the song "Dansevise". They gave the country its first victory, becoming the first duo from any country to win the Contest.
They divorced in 1975, also dissolving their singing partnership. He continued to perform as a soloist.
He died on 21 March 2015 at the age of 89.
