Hugues Aufray is a French singer-songwriter and guitarist who began his career in the 1950s by writing songs for other French artists before signing a record deal in 1959. To date, he has released dozens of studio albums, EPs and singles.

He is best known internationally for representing Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest 1964 in Copenhagen with the song "Dès que le printemps revient", which finished in joint 4th place with 14 points alongside the entry by Rachel who represented their home country France.

Post-Contest, he sang at an anti-racism benefit in honour of Martin Luther King Jr. and during the 1980s he duetted with Bob Dylan at a concert in Grenoble, also performing with him in Paris.

In 2022, he was honoured with a special prize in recognition of his whole musical career, during the 63rd International Congress of the Société des Poètes et Artistes de France, which was held that year in Sorèze.
