Hot Eyes was a Danish mixed-gender pop duo consisting of Kirsten Siggaard Andersen and Søren Bundgaard Nielsen. Prior to forming the duo, Søren was a member of the Danish band Sir Henry who teamed up with Kirsten in an attempt to represent the country in the 1983 Contest in Munich. Failing to do so, Søren decided to leave and form the duo with Kirsten. Together they released four studio albums and several singles.
Their second attempt came one year later in Gothenburg with the song "Sku' du spørg' fra no'en?", which fared less well by finishing in 11th place with 41 points.
They made two more attempts in 1986 and 1987 before returning successfully returning to the Contest stage for the final time the following year in Dublin with the song "Ka' du se hva' jeg sa'?", which eclipsed their previous best result by finishing in 3rd place with 92 points.
Following their final appearance, they ceased recording together to focus on solo projects, which included another song for the national final together, but this time for Birthe Kjær who went on to represent the country the following year in Lausanne. For this, they appeared onstage as her backing singers.
Kirsten entered the national final again in 1990 as a soloist but failed to secure another ticket to Eurovision. Two years later, she formed a trio named "Swing Sisters" with opera singer Kirsten Vaupel and actor Lise-Lotte Norup, with whom she toured Denmark and several other European countries. She also performed with Søren on several special occasions later, reprising some of the Hot Eyes hits.
Søren also tried his luck as a composer in the 1993 and 1999 national finals, but did not win, and currently runs a recording company called "SB Studio" in Aalborg. Kirsten went on to appear on the theatre stage and won multiple awards for her portrayal of French singer Édith Piaf.
