Hooverphonic is a Belgian band formed in 1995 consisting of Alex Callier, Raymond Geerts and lead singer Geike Arnaert. Up until November 2020, Luka Cruysberghs was part of the band as lead singer. To date, they have released ten studio albums and several singles.
They were internally selected to represent their home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam with the song "Release Me". The vocals were provided by then-member Luka Cruysberghs. However, the Contest was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic and the song was not performed.
It was later confirmed that they would return to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam with the song "The Wrong Place", which successfully qualified from the first semi-final, finishing in 19th place with 74 points.
