Guy Mardel is the professional name of French singer Mardochée Elkoubi. Initially a member of a jazz band, he started his solo career after signing a record deal in 1963. To date, he has released over a dozen studio albums, singles and EPs.

He was internally selected to represent his home country in the Eurovision Song Contest 1965 in Naples with the song "N'avoue jamais", which finished in 3rd place with 22 points, giving the country its best result since being crowned the winner three years earlier in Luxembourg City.

Post-Contest, he failed to replicate the success of his Contest appearance but established his own record label in 1977 and has continued to release material and tour to this day.
