Grethe Ingmann was a Danish singer who began her career as a teenager, performing in several groups.
In 1955, she met her future husband, guitarist Jørgen Ingmann, and they formed their own duo. They were selected to represent their country at the Eurovision Song Contest 1963 in London with the song "Dansevise". They gave the country its first victory, becoming the first duo from any country to win the Contest.
They divorced in 1975, also dissolving their singing partnership. As a soloist, she made several unsuccessful attempts to represent the country at Eurovision.
She died on 18 August 1990 at the age of 52 following a battle with cancer.
