Gili Netanel, known professional by his first name, is an Israeli singer who, together with singer Galit Burg, is best known for representing his home country in the Eurovision Song Contest 1989 with the song "Derech Ha-melech", which finished in 12th place with 50 points.
At the age of 12 he was the youngest participant to ever compete for his home country on the Contest stage, being just six months older than Nathalie Pâque, who represented France in the same Contest. Because of the controversy surrounding the performers' ages the EBU implemented a minimum age rule starting from the following year that would see only artists aged 16 or older in the year of participation being permitted to compete in the Contest.
