Efendi is the stage name of Azeri singer Samira Efendiyeva.
She began her music career by competing in popular talent shows such as Yeni ulduz, Böyük Səhnə and The Voice of Azerbaijan, finishing in third place and as runner up, respectively.
In 2017, she took part in in the 'Silk Way Star, an international singing competition which aired in Kazakhstan, also finishing in third place. She also represented her home country at The Voice of Nur-Sultan, again finishing in third place.
Following the cancellation of the Contest due to the coronavirus pandemic sweeping through Europe, it was confirmed that she would return to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam with the song "Mata Hari", which successfully qualified from the first semi-final, finishing in 20th place 65 points.
