Eduardo Nascimento was an Angolan singer who started his career as a teenager in 1962 as the lead singer of quintet Os Rocks. They participated in many music festivals around Portugal and released a well-received EP in 1966.

As a soloist he entered the national final for Eurovision and was selected to represent Portugal in the Eurovision Song Contest 1967 in Vienna with the song "O vento mudou", which finished in joint 12th place with 3 points alongside the entry by Fredi of Finland. This also made him the first-ever black male singer to participate in the Contest, coming just a year after Milly Scott became the first artist, male or female, to participate in the Contest.

Post-Contest, he released one more EP with his band in 1968 before calling time on his music career just a year later and returning to his birth country. He died on 22 November 2019 at the age of 76.
