Carola Häggkvist, known professionally by her first name, is a Swedish singer who began her career in the early 1980s. To date, she has released several studio albums and singles.
She was selected to represent her home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 1983 in Munich with the song "Främling", which finished in 3rd place with 126 points.
Returning eight years later in Rome, she gave the country its third win with the song "Fångad av en stormvind", beating the French entry "C'est le dernier qui a parlé qui a raison" by Amina after a recount gave her the win due to being awarded more 10 points.
She represented the country for the third time in Athens at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with the song "Invincible", becoming the country's first act to perform in and qualify from the semi-final, finishing in 5th place with 170 points. This also saw her equal fellow countrywoman Marie Bergman as her home country's most frequent entrant.
