Carmela Corren was an Israeli singer and actress who started her music career after she sustained an injury which saw her give up her desired career as a dancer.
Her music career kicked off in 1956 when TV presenter Ed Sullivan invited her to appear on his show in the United States. At the beginning of the 1960s, she became popular in Germany and from then until the late 1970s, she released dozens of studio albums.
She is best known for representing Austria in the Eurovision Song Contest 1963 in London with the song "Vielleicht geschieht ein Wunder", which finished in 7th place with 16 points.
She died on 16 January 2022 at the age of 83.
