Butch Moore was an Irish singer and showband icon popular during the 1950s. Throughout his career he released several singles and albums.
He became the debut participant for his home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 1965 in Naples with the song "Walking the Streets in the Rain", which finished in 6th place with 11 points. It reached #1 in the Irish charts but failed to make an impact in the UK.
In the late 1960s/early 1970s, his career went into decline and he emigrated to the United States, where he remained until his death from a heart attack on 3 April 2001 at the age of 65.
