Eurovision Song Contest Wiki

Braulio is the professional name of Spanish singer-songwriter Braulio Antonio García Bautista. He began his career in 1971 when he debuted at a local music festival. Throughout a career lasting more than four decades he has released over a dozen studio albums and singles.

A serial participant in numerous music festivals, he was selected to represent his home country in the Eurovision Song Contest 1976 in The Hague with the song "Sobran las palabras", which finished in 16th place with 11 points, just a single point behind the entry by the group Les Humphries Singers of Germany.

Post-Contest, he scored his breakthrough on the Latin scene with the song "A tu regreso a casa" and after signing up with CBS he went on to be a Grammy-nominated artist and scored #1 singles on the Billboard charts. He has also written songs for other singers including Massiel, who gave the country its second and, as of 2024, final win in the Contest.
