Eurovision Song Contest Wiki

Blas Cantó Moreno is a Spanish singer. Having begun his career at the age of 8, he came to national attention when he attempted to represent his home country for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2004 but failed to be chosen over María Isabel, who went on to win in Lillehamer.

He became a member of the boy band ARUYN in 2009 and they attempted to represent their home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf, finishing as runner-up in the national final to Lucía Pérez. Since 2016, he has had a solo career and has released one solo album and several singles.

He was internally selected to represent his home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam with the song "Universo". As part of a 'Big Five' nation he had direct qualification for the final.

Following the cancellation of the Contest due to the coronavirus pandemic sweeping through Europe, it was confirmed that he would return to represent his home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam with the song "Voy a quedarme". It had direct qualification for the final, where it finished in 24th place with 6 points.

The following month, it was announced that he had collaborated on an English version of "Voy a quedarme" with the United Kingdom's representative James Newman, retitled "I Will Stay".
