Björn Skifs is a Swedish singer, songwriter, actor and screenwriter who started his career in the early 1960s, first as a member of the band Blåblus before achieving greater popularity as the lead singer of the band Blue Swede who achieved several hits including a cover of the Mark James song "Hooked On a Feeling", which topped the US charts. He opened the 2024 grand final with a performance of the song.
Following their split, he embarked on a solo career which included representing his home country twice on the Eurovision stage: the first in 1978 in Paris with the song "Det blir alltid värre framåt natten", which finished in 14th place with 26 points, and again three years later in Dublin with the song "Fångad i en dröm", which fared better by finishing in 10th place with 50 points.
Since then he has continued to forge a very successful career as both a singer and an actor and joined forces with fellow Swedish singer Agnes Carlsson to perform a specially-penned song for the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria to Daniel Westling in June 2010.
