Anneke Grönloh was an Indonesian-born Dutch singer who started her music career in 1959 after winning a talent show. Throughout the following decade she scored a string of hits and released several studio albums in multiple languages.
She is best known internationally for representing her home country in the Eurovision Song Contest 1964 in Copenhagen with the song "Jij bent mijn leven", which finished in joint 10th place with 2 points alongside the entry by Robert Cogoi of Belgium.
In 2000, she was named the "Singer of the Century" in her home country and later ventured into the world of theatre where she replaced singer Corry Brokken on tour.
In 2017, she announced her retirement due to health problems and died on 14 September the following year aged 76.
