Ann Sophie is the professional name of English-born German singer Ann-Sophie Düremeyer who began her career in 2011. To date, she has released two studio albums and several singles.
She initially finished as runner-up in the national final but when the winner declined to represent the country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, she accepted and represented them with the song "Black Smoke".
Due to being part of the "Big Five", she directly qualified for the final, where she finished in last place with Nul Points, the first time in five decades that the country had achieved this result and she was also the first act from her country to do this under the modern voting system.
