Anita Traversi was a Swiss singer who began her career in the 1950s.
She first attempted to represent her home country on home soil at the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest but was not selected.
Her second attempt proved more successful and she represented her home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 1960 in London with the song "Cielo e terra", which finished in 8th place with 5 points.
A further two attempts proved unsuccessful until she was chosen for the second time to represent her home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 1964 in Copenhagen with the song "I miei pensieri". However, she fared much worse by finishing in joint last place with Nul Points with three other entries.
From the mid-1960s her career began to fade and she made one more attempt to represent her home country in the Contest before retiring from the industry altogether.
She died on 25 September 1991 at the age of 54.
