Andy Paul is the professional name of Greek-Cypriot singer Andreas Pavlou who started his career in the 1960s following a move to the UK where he was first noticed performing in a pub talent contest before securing a contract. To date he has released several studio albums and singles.
He is best known internationally for representing his birth country in the Eurovision Song Contest 1984 in Luxembourg City with the song "Ánna Marí-Élena", which finished in 15th place with 31 points, just 3 points behind the entries by Maribelle of The Netherlands and Mary Roos of Germany. It went on to become the first hit for Stock Aiken and Waterman's Ht Factory.
Post-Contest, he went on to become a big star in the Greek music industry and has supported big names such as Demis Roussos at the Royal Festival Hall while also working with others in Greece and Cyprus.
