André Claveau

André Claveau was a French singer and actor who achieved his success throughout the 1940s and 1950s.

He was the first male singer to be internally selected to represent his home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 1958 in Hilversum with the song "Dors, mon amour", which gave the country its first victory and also made him the first male and oldest winner of the Contest until 1990 as well as the only one until then to triumph in their forties.

He died on 4 July 2003 at the age of 91 following a cerebral embolism.
