Aminata is the professional name of Latvian singer, songwriter and music producer Aminata Savadogo. She began her career in 2008 when she competed in the national television show Krodziņā pie Paula and then also competed in Muzikālā banka two years later. To date, she has released two studio albums, two EPs and several singles.
She was selected to represent her home country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna with the song "Love Injected", which became the country's first entry in seven years to qualify for the final, finishing in 6th place with 186 points, thus giving it its best result in a decade.
She returned the following year as the songwriter of the country's entry "Heartbeat" by Justs, which, as of 2023, is the country's last entry to qualify for the final, as well as writing the country's 2021 Contest entry "The Moon Is Rising" by Samanta Tīna, which failed to qualify for the final.
