Adelaide is a Portuguese singer who started as a rock singer with the hit "Baby suicida" in 1981 before switching mostly to ballads. To date she has released several studio albums compilations and singles.
She is best known internationally for representing her home country in the Eurovision Song Contest 1985 in Gothenburg with the song "Penso em ti, eu sei", which finished in 18th place with 9 points, just 8 points behind the entries by Lia Vissi of Cyprus and Takis Biniaris of Greece.
