"Absent Friend" was the Swedish entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 1965 in Naples, performed by Ingvar Wixell.
This marked the first time a country had not performed a song in their native language and led to the introduction of a rule the following year that all participants must sing in a national language of their country.
It finished in 10th place with 6 points, just a single point behind the entry by Marjorie Noël of Monaco.
